Unified bandwidth management (UBM) is the ability to combine multiple bandwidth management features into a single network optimization appliance.
As network optimization technology has grown XRoads Networks has been a pioneer in the field of multi-link aggregation as a means of optimizing network connectivity. To that end the company has developed a number of technologies and feature sets focused around our core link load balancing capabilities.
Vector Routing Algorithm - This is the technology which allows XRoads Networks to deliver unified bandwidth management within our appliances and is the core mechanism which drives our Diverse Link Routing, Application Performance Mgmt, and Site2Site WAN Optimization feature sets.
With our Vector Routing Algorithm our Edge appliances deliver:
Unified bandwidth management delivers an inexpensive bandwidth multiplier. Multiplying bandwidth through several broadband connections which has little impact on the budget but provides a significant impact on performance. Bandwidth reallocation occurs seamlessly and without introducing new protocols or ISP coordination.
Unified bandwidth management adds network redundancy in addition to the increased speed delivered by multiple WAN links. The Edge platform will automatically provide network redundancy between each link so that in the event of a network outage, the remaining active links will ensure continuous WAN connectivity.
Unified bandwidth management improves remote application responsiveness. Using Site2Site tunneling to optimize remote clients even with added security protocols such as 3DES encryption. Sessions are distributed over multiple tunnels, thus making packet interception up to 10 times more difficult.
