The NETaXcel product incorporates two unique technologies called
DBM (Dynamic Bandwidth Management) and URL policy-based shaping. These
technologies enable network administrators to improve throughput
and performance for mission critical applications.
DBM automatically determines the 'bad' traffic and throttles it so that mission critical applications, like VoIP, have the bandwidth they need.
Over 70% of all Internet traffic is web traffic. The NETaXcel appliance accelerates web-based connectivity for offices, hotels, and multitenant facilities by combining two or more broadband connections in order to dramatically increase network throughput to the Internet with automated failover.
Policy-Based Shaping
Many customers require the ability to set specific rate limits for
groups of end-users (subscribers), or specific servers and/or
applications. The NETaXcel's policy-based shaping provides the
ability to set specific bandwidth rates for defined networks
and/or applications. Policies can be created based on IP
address, subnet, source/destination, port, protocol, signature,
or even URL. Each policy provides full utilization reporting.
Network Reporting
A critical aspect of any traffic shaping appliance is its ability to
provide real-time network reporting, as without reporting how
does the network administrator know what policies to create.
The NETaXcel appliance includes both caned and custom
user-defined reports which are updated in real-time.
The EdgeXOS (XRoads Operating System) platform is a modular system which incorporates a number of bandwidth management components. The following is a list of some of the primary features built-in to this EdgeXOS platform, including patented technologies not found in other products on the market today. For more information, please contact an XRoads Networks sales representative.
The following is a listing of specifications for the NETaXcel product. The NETaXcel is part of the aXcel product family which is built on a scalable platform. The aXcel platform is designed to be scalable from 50Mbps up to 300Mbps without having to replace hardware. Affordable, Scalable, and Reliable
